Welcome to Mussel Ridge Doodles

Our story begins over three decades ago when Tom, an animal science major, and Annie, a preschool teacher studying to be a play therapist crossed paths at the University of Delaware. Tom's dedication to raising champion golden retrievers perfectly complemented Annie's nurturing spirit as a preschool teacher. With common interests ranging from travel and music to their mutual adoration of furry companions, they married and began raising a family in Maine.

Tom and Annie eventually put down roots in her family homestead in South Thomaston over looking the the Mussel Ridge Islands. Surrounded by stone walls and tall pines they raised three amazing children and many much loved family dogs, cats, and chickens.

During the challenges of the pandemic, a new furry friend entered their lives—Elphie. Clever, adventurous, and overflowing with love, Elphie quickly became an integral part of their family. With her impeccable manners and eagerness to learn, Elphie embodies the qualities that Tom and Annie cherish in their canine companions.

While Tom and Annie are staunch advocates for rescuing dogs in need, they understand that not every family may be suited for this path. With heartfelt consideration, they made the decision to have one litter of puppies with Elphie, hoping to share her exceptional qualities with other families. Elphie has delivered 9 “F2b” Goldendoodles. Tom and Annie are committed to fostering loving connections between humans and their four-legged friends.
